The Life and Times of Lewis Wetzel
This book to the best of the author's ability chronicles the life of this man. In some circles he was a hero, and in others a murderer. Wetzel was born in the late 1700's in what was considered the frontier at that time. His life was greatly affected by the interaction of the white settlers and the Native American's they inevitably intruded upon. He became an Indian hunter, and that was his sole profession. Early on that was a skill greatly desired, but as time passed became more of what most 'civilized people' considered harsh and undesirable behavior. He was a man who outlived his time, and because of this he outlived his welcome.

The book tells the story of Wetzel's life and adventures which were fraught with violence and danger, including his exploits during the American Revolutionary War and his skirmishes and battles with Native Americans.
