I thought that with the passing of time both freedom and provocation would have faded away; the impetus would have been swallowed by the capitalist machine which if it does not transform us into production robots, would have for sure made us all intolerant bleeding hearts. But instead with the art of Bjarne Melgaard this did not happen, even through time it remains, like the first time, a nice strong punch in the eye. Bjarne Melgaard is an internationally acclaimed painter, sculptor and installation artist. Throughout his career he has created an aesthetically striking, powerfully personal universe. He often combines painting, film, animation, photography, fashion and other objects in large installations that demonstrate his ability to create expressive, highly sensual spaces.
