NEALE: Arthur Ross Neale, CD passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 after a short illness. Born March 14, 1925 in Neepawa, MB to Art and Lily Neale, Ross was raised in the Franklin and Minnedosa area. He started working for MTS at a young age clearing bush and help setting poles. Ross enlisted in the army in 1943 and served with RWR landing at Juno Beach on D-Day, he was wounded just 11 days later and was returned home to Deer Lodge Hospital to recover and rehabilitate. After being released from active service he returned to MTS as a lineman, then a BX cable man, and finally in the business office retiring in 1979. Ross met Marion Coleman in Brandon in 1947; they were married June 2, 1948 and were blessed with three daughters. In addition to working for MTS, Ross had a career with the 71 Bty/26th Field Reg't as a Reservist, he retired as RSM in 1976. He then helped to create the 26th Field/XII Manitoba Dragoons Museum and was Curator there until 2010 becoming Curator Emeritus. Ross was a Boy Scout leader and while living in Morden he helped five young men to earn the designation of Queen Scout.
